An background check may show records that they have been
responsible for high crimes like escaping prison, mass killing, and many more.
Usually these people are placed in high detention units so as to watch over
them to avoid any prison break (especially those who have done this before) and
easily incorporate discipline. These may be a big problem for the owner if
these are not checked properly, however, as reality may seep in, that the
reason for these certain hiring protocols are for the security, a certain
ideology starts playing in our heads especially when it means talking action
pact movies.
Story lines for movies are not
entirely based on imagination alone. There are facts that strike an idea out of
the writer for a good movie plot and so on and so forth. One movie with such is
The Rock, which stars Nicolas Cage as
FBI chemical weapons specialist Dr. Stanley Goodspeed, who works with John
Patrick Mason, a convict released from prison for a special project played, by
Sean Connery.
The Rock is a story of a chemical
weapon (with lethal results), that was seize by a group of rogue Marine force,
leading them to seize Alcatraz “the rock” where they take tourists as hostages.
The role of the convicted Mason is to help the team of FBI agents get in, being
the only man to have escaped its high walls.
Another movie that shows hiring a
person with a criminal record is the high exhilarating film staring Angelina
Jolie: Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle
of Life. In the movie, Lara discovers and orb which may lead her to the
place, where Pandora’s Box, is
hidden. Unfortunately it fell in the hands of Jonathan Reiss, who hopes to sell
the box as massive weaponry. To help Lara retrieve the orb and locate the box,
she recruits Terry Sheridan, a former British marine turned mercenary, who was
released from prison for that special task.
Taking into account such situations
presented in film, it is not hard to imagine that because of the expertise they
carry (that also made them criminals), they are hired to take the task that
will help greatly in maintaining peace and order. Is there such an event that a
crime can actually turn into means for employment?
The “I love you virus” set a global
scare in the internet as it spreads through emails. The vast damage it has
caused, including the Pentagon, gave
a startling hunt for the person who made and dispersed it.
The “I love you virus” present itself through an email attachment with
the subject “Love-Letter-For-You.txt.vbs”. Opening this will definitely corrupt
the computer system affecting MP#, JPG, in the user’s hard drives. As the hunt
ended with the arrest of the female who set this web scare, the irony starts as
there were news that she (the programmer) got herself a job.
Whether or not the news on the hiring
of the “I love you virus” creator is true or not, or if there were real cases
of convicted men hired for special government mission, the fact still remains
that there are establishments who go through the process of criminal checking to
ensure the safety of their income resource. For now, it’s good to enjoy the
movies that made the supposedly “bad guys” to the admired “good guys”.
